Vision/Goals/Plans for 2011 onwards

By the end of 2012 we hope to run two different services – giving varying opportunities for people to seek & worship God and to be ministered to.

To see the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and prayer ministry more openly used in worship settings.
- To build teams, to develop the areas of:

-
To encourage people to join/form a Prayer Triplet
-
Ministry Teams will be encouraged to meet together for planning, development & fellowship.
Growth
-
To establish a Discipleship Group – for new believers; helping them to become assured in their faith in Christ and to develop sustainable spiritual disciplines.
-
To run our second Celebrate Recovery Course – aiding people to recover from past hurts, hang-ups & habits.
-
To look at different ways people might engage with God’s Word and grow in the grace & truth of Christ – even after being Christians for many years.
Serving
-
To help people see how they can further serve God’s purposes in his/her work place or daily lives
-
To see people released into the primary ministry God has for them
-
To encourage people to serve as part of a team within the church
-
To encourage teams to work together in developing vision & skills
-
To increase the number of CAP Befrienders
Mission
-
The goal of having at least 10 guests on each Alpha course
-
To develop the potential of our Parent & Toddler Group
-
To initiate an outreach programme amongst children & families
-
For Acorn to serve 60 families/individuals through CAP by the end of 2012
-
To form a youth team that can extend our existing youth work to those outside of the church
Unreached people groups/areas:
In recent times we have seen it is a privilege to start & develop a work amongst those who are deaf and also those in debt (via CAP) - in addition to supporting an Eden project and an Elim church plant in Blyth.
As well as seeing these valuable mission opportunities develop, we are now in the process of seeking God on how we can effectively reach and serve the following people groups: children & families, teenagers and those in their 20’s & 30’s – without of course neglecting other groups.
Working Together
During 2011/12 we will be looking to play our part in the following ‘inter-church’ mission opportunities: ‘Street Pastors’ and, ‘More Than Gold’ (Outreach during the 2012 Olympic Games).
Finance
Our desire over the next 2 years is to increase our regular giving by 25% in order to invest in work amongst children and young people.
2013 to 2015
Although we cannot fully determine how God might lead us during the next 5 years, here are some of the things we currently have in mind for beyond 2012:
Providing 3 main services – creating different opportunities and ways for people to seek & worship God as well as to be ministered to.
New facilities – To be looking to move to new premises that will enhance the next stage of the church’s mission and calling
Wider Mission – We’d like to be involved in intentional mission in other areas, such as North Shields and Shiremoor on top of our continued support for Elim’s work in Blyth.
