What to Expect
Even though there is far more going on at Acorn than a weekly service, there is no doubting that one of the highlights of the week is when we gather for corporate worship each Sunday morning.
Our goal is to create a setting where people can truly meet with God; through inspiring worship, relevant and practical teaching, sensitive prayer ministry and positive interaction – all accessible to those not used to going to church.
The worship on Sunday mornings would be regarded as contemporary as we try to include some of the best new songs, hymns & choruses from around the world – as well as some that would already be well known to many.
The sermon part of the morning would normally last for about 25 minutes and aims to be as relevant as possible both in content and in communication style. The desire is to help people increase their understanding of God (as recorded in the bible) and to learn what it means to be a Christ follower today.
We celebrate Holy Communion once a month – and on 4 additional occasions during the year where we are joined by those in the children & youth programmes.
As a church we believe that Jesus wants to impact our lives as we come to him with personal needs. We therefore give opportunity each Sunday for people to receive prayer as a response to the message that week and for the various issues and concerns that people are facing.
From time to time there will be believers’ baptisms, guest services, child dedications and people being received into membership.
